Independent Living Technologies

Independent Living Technologies was founded in 2011 by a trusted, local authority-approved and recommended provider of expert Home Care in the community, in and around the Buckinghamshire/Berkshire area. We are privately owned and operate a highly personalised and family-focused approach to client care.

Having worked in the domiciliary care industry for many years, we recognise that hands-on personal or practical assistance from our trained home care staff is not always what is needed in the first instance to enable our clients to continue to live independently, and with confidence in their own home.

Often the reassurance of knowing that they can summon the right kind of help swiftly and effectively to deal with any eventuality, is all that is required for total peace of mind.

With this in mind, we set up our own Support Line to bridge the gap between the need for a regular home care service and infrequent, ad hoc assistance.

Our wide-ranging telecare service is designed to support our clients’ safety, independence and well-being in their own home through preventative and tailor-made care measures, and is a trustworthy and failsafe way of ensuring that they get exactly the type of help they need at the simple touch of a button.

Our services include:
• 24/7 Support Line accessed via a discreet Personal Pendant
• Bogus Caller alarm
• Monitored Smoke Detector
• Fall Detector
• Key Safe
• Medication Management Dispensers

Just Checking

The Just Checking activity monitoring system provides a very different and more objective view of how a person with dementia is managing at home. In the majority of cases it increases the opportunities for a person to remain in their own home where familiar surroundings help them to function, and to postpone residential care.

The portable monitoring kit is easy to install, with activity charts accessed on-line. Half of all social services councils, including 13 London boroughs, are using Just Checking for assessment and care planning, ensuring care is targeted and effective. Health trusts are using it in community mental health teams, intermediate care and hospital discharge.

Mindme

Launched on 10th May and featured live on BBC lunchtime TV news and then the 6.30 evening news Mindme Locate has been specially created for people who suffer from dementia. Measuring 48mm x 36mm x 15mm it is probably the smallest locating device available.

Carers of people with dementia can go on line to see the location of the dementia wearer and the information will generally be no more than four minutes old. If it’s not convenient to go onto the web or it’s an emergency then the Carer can call the 24/7 Response Centre and an Operator will give the carer the location and give them further assistance if it’s required.

Mindme Alarm is an established product used by County and District Councils, charities, schools, industry, the Police and individuals. It can even be used as a telephone since the user can make up to three mobile phone calls or receive a call from anyone.
